A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Banjo began her dance training at Baltimore DanceTech under the guidance of Stephanie Powell. In 2008 she graduated from the Carver Center for Arts and Technology. During that same year, Mrs. Banjo was awarded Maryland All State Dancer, Maryland Distinguished Scholar and the Bronze Medalist for the National NAACP ACT-SO Competition.
Jasmine received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with a minor in Sport Management from Southern Methodist University in 2012. She has received additional training as a full scholarship student at the Bates Dance Festival, Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, and Jacobs Pillow. Mrs. Banjo completed two seasons with Dallas Black Dance Theatre from 2013-2015 performing works by Alvin Ailey, Christopher Huggins, Troy Powell, Christopher Vo and Ulysses Dove just to name a few, performing nationally and internationally.
Jasmine is pleased to now be able to spend time with her husband and son while teaching dance to students of all levels spreading her love of dance.
