Katherine “Kat” Parchman began her early years dancing in Houston.  After to moving to DFW, she was invited by Katie Miller to join the Plano Dance Theatre (PDT) Ensemble.  With PDT and the Allen High School Tallenettes, Kat grew to become an award-winning dancer and choreographer, receiving ballet and dance training accolades from Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Chicago and Interlochen Arts. Post high school, Kat attended the University of Texas at Austin — dancing and choreographing with the Roustabouts Dance Company while completing her degree in philosophy. During college, Kat studied abroad in Durban, South Africa — sparking her interest in international dance and dance therapy.

After graduation, Kat served with the U.S. Peace Corps in Indonesia, where she engaged in cultural exchanges by teaching dance and learning local, cultural dances. Today Kat spends her days as a behavioral therapist and choreographs and teaches dance at her home studio: PDT. She is thrilled to part of 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre and dancing with such a devoted collection of dancers.
