Laura Pearson grew up in Southlake, Texas where she trained with Texas Ballet Theater School in Dallas. She trained at TBTS for eight years where she participated in their jazz competition team and ballet ensembles, as well as the Royal Academy of Dance examinations and the American Academy of Ballet’s performance awards. She has attended numerous summer intensives with companies such as Texas Ballet Theater, Dallas Black Dance Theater, Joffrey Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She has also attended Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, Beginnings Workshop in New York, and Radio City Rockette Summer Intensive. Laura graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Arizona with a BFA in dance and a BA in mathematics.
While at Arizona, she performed works by James Clouser, Amy Ernst, Sam Watson, Douglas Nielsen, Michael Williams, Tammy Dyke-Compton, Susan Quinn-Williams, and Elizabeth George. Other performances included Balanchine’s “Allegro Brilliante” and “Rubies” as well as Martha Graham’s “Panorama” and Sherry Zunker’s “Evolution of a Dream.” She also had the amazing opportunity to do a 14 city China tour with Art.if.Act Dance Project called “The Great American Dance Tour.” Currently she is also dancing with Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet and Contemporary Ballet Dallas.
