Adam Rech

Guest Artist

Adam Rech is a dance performer, teacher, and choreographer based in Dallas, Texas. He began his dance training at the age of five with the Ballet Academy of Texas in Coppell, under the direction of Lisa Slagle and Tammie Reinsch. As a young dancer, he received scholarships to train with ABT Alabama, Oklahoma City Ballet, Glenda Brown Choreography, Gus Giordano Jazz, and Regional Dance America as an Emerging Choreographer. In the spring of 2019, Adam received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Sam Houston State University.

Adam is a proud recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, awarded by the US Government’s Institute of International Exchange (IIE). In the fall of 2018, he was 1 of 30 international dancers selected to study in Israel with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC). He had the honor of performing in multiple works by KCDC artistic director Rami Be’er, including “Asylum,” “Aide Memoir,” “Blackout,” “Horses in the Sky,” and “Upon Reaching the Sun."

What attracts Adam to teaching and learning more about movement is how it connects people to themselves and others. He views dance as a universal language and hopes to provide people with technical and improvisational tools that heighten their bodies' ability to communicate and discern between pain and pleasure. Adam joined 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre as a Dancer in September 2021.
