Catherine Fletcher

Dancer

Catherine (Sexton) Fletcher began her dance training at Suzanne's School of Dance in College Station, Texas. She performed with the school's company and Ballet Brazos under the instruction of Katy Ellison. She also trained in intensives with Project Dance New York and Houston, Ballet West, Ballet Austin, and Texas Ballet Theater.


Catherine continued her training at Texas Christian University in the School of Classical and Contemporary Dance where she graduated Magna Cum Laude double majoring in Ballet Performance and Modern Dance. At TCU she also earned a Pilates Teaching Certificate with distinction and served as Director of National Business for the Alpha chapter of Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society. A Nordan Fine Arts Scholar, highlights in the SCCD include performances by resident faculty Nina Martin and Susan Douglas Roberts, and works by guest artists LeeWei Chao and Summer Lee Rhatigan. Catherine completed an internship and performed with Ballet West ArtEmotion coached by Colby Damon, Allison DeBona, and Rex Tilton in the summer of 2018. While pausing her collegiate career to recover from an injury in April 2019, Catherine taught master classes in the College Station area, directed rehearsals for Ballet Brazos, and earned certification as a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher. Upon returning to TCU, she performed in works by guest artists Kurt Douglas and Suzanne Haag as well as premiered her own choreography.


Catherine joined 6 o'Clock Dance Theater as a Company Dancer in July 2022 after performing with Zion Dance Project under the direction of Vincent Hardy for a year contract. In addition to rehearsing and performing with 6DT in 2023, Catherine performed the premiere of Nightmare Before Nutcracker under direction of Brianna Moriarty and the Tchaikovsky Suite Spectacular under the coaching of Christa Beacham. She continues to instruct dance, pilates, and yoga in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
