Abby Gluckman

Abby Gluckman is a Dallas, Texas native and graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. In May 2023, Abby graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching in Mathematics Education from the University of Texas at Dallas. Abby spent the Fall of 2023 clinical teaching high school mathematics to earn her Texas teacher certificate in 7-12 Mathematics.
For her full-time work, Abby teaches high school mathematics at Richardson ISD. In addition to teaching math, Abby teaches dance and co-runs the Performance and Competitive Ensemble program at Texas Ballet Theater School, Dallas.
Abby grew up dancing at Texas Ballet Theater School, Dallas before furthering her dance education at the collegiate level at Tulane University. While at Tulane, Abby was a four-year member of the Newcomb Dance Company and had the opportunity to work with guest artists Omar Carrum, Kathryn “Kitty” Daniels, and Jim Lepore. In May 2021, the Newcomb Department of Theatre and Dance faculty awarded Abby the Jill Karp Prize for Dance: Choreography and Performance and the Minnette L. Starts Award for Excellence in Dance.
Abby has also trained at the Bates Dance Festival and performed as a guest with 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre in 2017. Throughout her dance journey, Abby has built a strong ballet background, discovered a passion for modern and contemporary dance, and started to develop her choreographic voice.
Abby joined 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre as an Apprentice in July 2021, was promoted to Company Member in May 2022, and fulfilled the role of Rehearsal Director in August 2023.
