Emma Monsen

Dancer

Emma Monsen is from Houston, Texas, and started her dance training at the Rowland School of Ballet, as a member of Kingwood Dance Theatre. In addition, Emma trained at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy and attended summer intensives at Houston Ballet, Indiana University, and Texas Ballet Theater. 


Emma attended the Alonzo King LINES B.F.A. Ballet program at the Dominican University of California, where she performed original works by Kara Davis, Gregory Dawson, Nick Korkos, and Carmen Rozestran. At LINES, Emma was a member of the Dominican University of California Honors College and on the Dean’s List. 


Additionally, Emma transferred to the TCU School for Classical and Contemporary Dance as a ballet major. Her performance highlights in the SCCDance include original works by Professors Adam W. McKinney and Keith Saunders, as well as guest artists Kara Wilkes and Bernard H. Gaddis. She is a recipient of the Fine Arts Scholarship and is on the Dean’s List, as well as having served as a student representative for the SCCDance Class of 2023. Emma served as Co-Director of Community Engagement for the Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society and hosted the AIDS Outreach Center Benefit Auction. At TCU, Emma’s choreographic work “Collective” received second place at the Horned Frog Scholar. Outside of TCU, She has performed in an original work by Dominic Walsh at Compass Coaching Project and served as Head Chaperone for the Texas Ballet Theater summer intensive. 


Upon graduating with her B.F.A., Emma joined 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre as a Company Member in August 2023. When she’s not dancing, you can find Emma as a part of the administrative staff at Contemporary Ballet Dallas or teaching Pilates at Club Pilates in the DFW metroplex.
