Christopher M. Ham
Lighting Designer

Christopher M. Ham is the resident lighting designer for 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre and a multidisciplinary artist with experience in lighting, costume, projection, scenery, and sound design. He has worked across all areas of technical theater at the professional level.

After earning his MFA from the Meadows School of the Arts, Ham moved to New York, where he designed and produced trade shows for major clients such as SONY and HASBRO. He later spent nearly a decade freelancing in the Washington, D.C. area, serving as a designer, production manager, and technical director for numerous dance and theater companies along the East Coast.

Ham’s lighting design for dance has been featured at the American College Dance Association’s regional and national festivals (Kennedy Center), the International Choreographers’ Showcase in Spain, Meadows Dance Ensemble (SMU), Kansas State University, St. Louis Ballet, COCA (St. Louis), and Shenandoah University, where he also taught as an adjunct assistant professor and served as lighting designer and technical director for the dance division. He has designed for Harford Community College’s Kinetic Canvas series inspired by Salvador Dali, and toured nationally with Flying Lions Dance Company. Ham currently serves as production designer and technical director for Doniphan Project Dance Company (Tupelo, MS) and continues to consult and design for Ekilibre Dance Company (Winchester, VA), which presents work both regionally and internationally.

In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Ham has designed for companies including 6 o’Clock Dance Theatre, Hathaway Academy of Ballet, Repertory Company Theatre, Upstart Productions, Cara Mía Theatre Company, Shakespeare Dallas, WaterTower Theatre, Big Thought/Creative Solutions, and countless local studios and schools.
