Zach Ingram Headshot

Contemporary Ballet with Zach Ingram
This technique class will have a contemporary approach at the barre and in the center, allowing the body to contribute to the movement and not just the pose. Your kinesphere will be stretched as you explore moving off-center in your ballet technique. Instructor Zach Ingram (a total bunhead at heart!) will ask you to investigate the body and your movement potential by asking, "How does that take you to the next place?" We'll rely on classical ballet technique as our anchor so that new exploration and pathways can happen.

Jarvis McKinley

Career Conversations and Audition Tips with Zach Ingram and Jarvis McKinley
This conversational workshop will explore career questions central to success in the dance industry. Artistic Director Zach Ingram and Artistic Development Coach Jarvis McKinley will answer a variety of questions and leave time for Q&A. For example: What has been the key to Ingram's and McKinley's success in the dance industry? What is the best lesson they learned from one of their mentors? What advice would they give to fellow professional artists? What are the different types of careers for dancers? How can a dancer stand out in auditions? What role does teaching play in the industry? How do choreographers hone their craft? What organizations exist for networking within the dance world? Join us as we take a deep dive into the careers of two exceptional dance artists!

Adam Rech

Intro to Composition with Adam Rech
This introduction to composition class will explore how to physically embody new movement vocabulary through guided solo and group improvisational exercises. Dancers will be asked to navigate transitions through high, medium, and low levels of movement. Learn to switch up how you groove to the rhythm with color-changing texture work. Go beyond just your own body, and carve out the “negative” space around you. Using a culmination of skills gained earlier in the class, dancers will explore how to manipulate and develop one gesture into a full work.

Amit Katz

Body Conditioning with Amit Katz
From beginners to pros, today’s dancers know that if you want to avoid injury, increase strength, and progress training faster, body conditioning is essential. It helps us push past boundaries and keeps us safe from things like muscle instability. Do you prioritize it? Join Amit Katz for body conditioning that prioritizes all the essentials for your wellness. This Body Conditioning class will focus on a variety of muscle groups, emphasizing the core with each exercise. The class will be taught using slow and controlled movements, working on strength, stability, posture, proper breath control, and flexibility.

Kaley Jensen_edited.jpg

A Dancer's Mindset with Kaley Jensen
This conversational workshop will explore tactics for balancing passion with perseverance and discuss the necessary skills dancers need to endure the mental, physical, and emotional challenges of pursuing a career in the arts. Kaley is skilled at connecting with dancers of all ages and creating space for transparent and supportive dialogue. This class will help dancers learn important strategies and get connected to resources that will support a long-term successful and sustainable dance career.

Zach Ingram Headshot

Horton with Zach Ingram
Former Alvin Ailey company dancer and Artistic Director of 6 o'Clock Dance Theatre Zach Ingram continues to pass along Lester Horton’s technique to future generations of dancers. This class will work your whole body with an anatomical approach to dance that includes flexibility, strength, coordination, and body and spatial awareness to enable unrestricted, dramatic freedom of expression. Get ready for flat backs, lateral stretches, lunges, tilts, and body isolations. This class is sure to make you stronger and longer while giving you insight into the creator (Lester Horton) and a man he deeply inspired (Alvin Ailey).

Tyrell Rolle.jpeg

Contemporary with Tyrell Rolle
From dancing with companies such as Philadanco to Camille A. Brown, Tyrell Rolle carries an immense wealth of experience as both a contemporary and commercial dancer. Join him while he is in Texas (one weekend only!), for this special master class with a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts winner. Rolle's contemporary classes are a combination of Horton, Graham, Jazz, and Ballet with a fusion of ethnic dance techniques. Experience a passionate and emotional dance style that uses motion to interpret music. This class will push your fluidity and grace; especially in transitions, turns, and leaps. Also, the class will focus on facial expression as well as style, grace, and stage presence.

Abby Gluckman

Repertoire with Abby Gluckman
This class will introduce you to movement from 6 o'Clock Dance Theatre's repertory.

The company's signature movement style has often been described as powerful and polished, with ballet on the bottom and modern on top. Asked about Artistic Director Zach Ingram's movement, company dancers say "It just feels GOOD!"

Get ready for a true fusion of styles (ballet, jazz, and modern) in
a rep class that promises not to disappoint.
